Mary McLeod Bethune Mural 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle
Groundbreaking educator and civic leader Mary McLeod Bethune is the statuesque central figure in Charles White’s mural for the Los Angeles Public Library. One of seventeen children, and among the first in her family born after emancipation, Bethune founded the Daytona Literary and Industrial Training School for Negro Girls (now Bethune-Cookman University). With education and learning as the central theme, his mural emphasizes black families and the significance of music, education, and culture.
A fun challenge for children, adults, and families, this finished 1000-piece puzzle measures 25 x 20 inches. The 10” x 13” x 1-7/8” storage box shows the completed puzzle artwork and an image of the full original artwork. The puzzle pieces are packed in a resealable plastic bag, an ideal place to keep all the puzzle pieces together.
