Brown Hawker Dragonfly Brooch

The brown hawker (Aeshna grandis) is a species of large Palearctic dragonfly belonging to the family Aeshnidae, the hawkers. This species is found in Europe and temperate Asia.  As predators, they help control insect populations, contributing to ecosystem balance.
